Greenbush Training Camp 2020
Prepare Together…Succeed Together
As always, we look forward to serving you and your staff during your pre-service professional development. This year, more than any year, districts are seeking support on a variety of important topics to ensure the safe and effective reopening of schools.
Greenbush is hosting an event similar to Greenbush University this August. The goal is to provide high quality professional development to the thousands of educators we serve. Beginning August 10 and running through September 3rd, we will have a multitude of virtual professional development sessions covering the many topics necessary to reopening schools this fall.
This event will provide you and your staff with the professional learning most relevant to your needs, allowing you to build group or individual schedules to meet all needs. Meeting in person? Build a schedule where small groups can attend the sessions together. Looking for personalized opportunities? Individual teachers can build their own schedules; each session will end with a certificate of completion that can be used as an artifact for professional development points and/or be redeemed for college credit.

At the state level, missing or incomplete CTE Student Data causes lower than actual average performance levels which leads to an inaccurate view of CTE student performance in Kansas and further increases the risk of losing Perkins funding for the entire state. Submitting CTE Student Data is very important to our State retaining the current level of Perkins funding.
This work session is designed for any district who has NOT submitted their data for the August 15 deadline. The structure of this session is informal and work-based. There will not be any formal presentation. Please bring the following to the session: all necessary passwords to gain you access to your Authenticated Application account, your KIDS KCAN system account, any individuals in your district who enter student data, and any problems you have encountered as you have attempted to enter your data.
The intent of the session is for Jamie and Angie to work with districts on their respective student data issues, help troubleshoot, and ultimately help district teams complete the student data entry accurately and effectively.
Most of the session will be for assistance with your district’s data entry, so come prepared to work! 2 Hour Session
- How to best set up your virtual classroom for minimal stress and maximum results.
- How to set the stage at the start of the school year, in order to build meaningful emotional connections with students.
- Virtual and hands-on ways to increase student engagement and check for understanding.
The first hour will be a presentation, with a 10 minute break. The remaining time will be spent answering “hot topics” questions submitted by teachers, with the balance of our session used for open forum Q&A.
Please complete the google form in the Zoom description of the session at least 3 days prior to your session.
I look forward to seeing you all!
